BRAVE LITTLE SQUIRREL

This brave little squirrel made its sneaky way up to our second story deck where it proceeded to eat some of the birdseeds that had been blown out of our bird feeder.  Huxley was confused as he watching it chow down right on the other side of the glass. He was banging on the glass and the squirrel was not even flinching. Crazy squirrel.

HAPPENINGS

I don't think terror is understandable until you have been legitimately terrorizes. Last saturday, Mike was going to take Huxley and Noah on a walk. I was in the middle of sewing but decided to tag along last minute. It was a beautiful day full of children playing outside riding their bikes around. As we got down the block and crossed the street, my attention was drawn to a close by apartment window where two dogs had begun barking at us. What happened next feels like a dream. I remember telling michael that those dogs were about to get out and come attack. Within seconds they busted through the screen and charged us. Mike says he did not believe me until the dogs were attacking him and Noah. The pitbull was the strongest most vicious dog that I had ever seen and it was fixated and determined to kill Noah. You can just tell when an animal snaps like that.

Anyways, Michael told me to go and get Huxley out of there. In hindsight I definitely should have listened to him but instead, I faced his stroller away and hesitated. When I saw how much mike was struggling to keep the dog away my adrenalin just carried me over to that dog and I gave it the hardest kick I had. It felt like I had kicked a stone wall. The dog did not even notice.

Realizing that I had walked away from my baby I rushed back to him and realizing we needed more help so I begun to yell as loud and as desperate as I could. I remember there was a moment that I looked over and saw the dog bite Noah. Noahs painful bark echoes in my mind still. Finally after what seemed like an eternity some very brave men came to our rescue and the dogs sort of snapped out of it. I made a big guy walk me until I had Huxley in the garage because the dogs were still running around. I just remember crying and pleading for them not to let the dogs get my baby.

All in all it was an unfortunate situation full of unfortunate circumstances. The dogs owner was on vacation and the dog sitter who lived next door had just open the window to give the dogs some fresh air. The one dog also happened to be the biggest strongest pit bull that I have ever seen.

after something like that happens you can't help but think of all the should haves or what ifs. I have been trying to stop myself from doing that and focus on the fact that Huxley, Michael, and I are ok. Mike had one puncture wound on his arm and a few scratches and bruises. Noah got bit quite a bit but is healing like a champ.

I am so thankful.

huxleys room

Right after Christmas we moved into a condo that we decided to rent. Besides for all of the actual moving and painting, it has been great. It is a great way to start off a new year! I painted Huxleys room a light grey/blue and I really love it! It was either this color or tangerine. I think we are all happy that I went in this direction.
With the move and all, I have not had very much time to do any decorating. I did however want to do something simple in Huxleys room because the plain walls were bothering me. I had a bunch of paint samples that I  cut up into triangles and sewed together to make these cute banners. I absolutely love how it turned out and best of all it was free!

my boys

I love these two so very much. Huxleys face in the second photo makes me laugh every time I see it. He has such and easy going and hilarious personality. I am so blesses to me a mommy of such a wonderful little boy and a wife to such a wonderful husband.

holidays

The holidays were a bit different for us this year with a 9 month old around. It was fun watching him open all his presents..just kidding! he had absolutely no idea what was going on. He just crawled around trying to break the world record for the most christmas bows stuffed into one single mouth. Im pretty sure he got close. It was so nice spending time with family and just relaxing. There is always so much to be thankful for.
